I apologize, I apologize because so many black women have yet to find their worth. I apologize because society has us black women believing our dark skin isn’t beautiful, our natural hair isn’t acceptable. I apologize because the very same men we give birth to have yet to understand the unbearable pain we go through for 9 months. I apologize because black women cannot see that our flaws are just as beautiful as the smile God has given us to brighten someone’s day. I apologize because curvy black women aren’t accepted in our society. I apologize because black women rather bring down the next women instead of encouraging her to strive for all she can be. I apologize because we as black women are so quick to pass judgement on the next black women. I apologize because black women cannot be themselves without the unnecessary criticism. I apologize because black women aren’t seen as heroes but as hoes and bitches that are used for a males satisfaction of a quick nut! I apologize because somewhere there is a little black girl being molested, or striving to understand why her mother is being beat everyday, or asking her mother why her skin and hair isn’t as beautiful as the little white girls in her class. I apologize because no matter how hard we work to make a statement, somethings will never change. Despite all odds black women are beautiful, whether you are curvy, thick, thin, dark skin or light skin. Whether you have uncontrollable hair or manageable hair, whether you are a doctor or a waitress. Nevertheless, whether you understand it or not, you black women are a special gift from God. I apologize that you, black women, have yet to understand your worth.
I apologize because their isn’t more black men that take on their responsibilities, I apologize because black men rather keep count on how many women they can manipulate, rather than keep count on how many times they can make their child or mother smile in a day. I apologize because black men rather praise Lil Boosie than God. I apologize because black men do not understand that an education is way more sexier than a drug rep on the streets. I apologize because black men strive to be “the man” rather than a “one women” man. I apologize because black men only go after the women with silicone bodies. I apologize because black men say things like “I don’t date black girls because they are crazy.” However, what black men fail to realize is that a black women with soul, confidence, and ambitions will not let you, as a black man, fail. I apologize because every black women has been hurt by a black man. I apologize because their aren’t that many black men that understand their heritage. I apologize because most black men are just young minded black boys seeking to fit in with a society that degrades the African American community.
